My daughter is being raised a "California girl." Chad had Friday off because the 4th of July fell on a Saturday this year. We decided to use this day for a family day at the beach. What a wonderful time we had! It was overcast for the few hours we were there...and when you sat up off the blanket the wind was a bit chilly, but we had a great time anyways. Bailey LOVED playing in the sand. She even got to put her feet in the cold ocean water. She caught sand crabs with Daddy, and then tried to pick them up and squish them. All in all, I would say that she is already a beach baby, which makes this Mommy happy and proud! :)

I guess it's also safe to say she is a "water baby." We got her a little pool about a week ago, and she loved it. On the 4th of July we went to our cousin in law's mom's house ( I know that was confusing). This was Bailey's first time in a big pool...she was thrilled to be in the water. She got to play with Mommy, Grandpa, and some of mom's cousins, and her great uncle! She stayed in there for over a half hour. I know she definitely could have stayed in there longer, but Mommy was ready to get out...and we didn't want to push our luck it being her first time in a big pool and being at someone else's house, we wanted to keep her mood pleasant. What a great rest of the afternoon/evening with my family, eating, talking and just enjoying being together. After the party, we came home, ate dinner, got cleaned up, and went to watch the fireworks show at the fairgrounds with my sister. She feel asleep before the firework show started, so Daddy recorded it for her. Chad, my sister, and I had a great time that evening, laughing, and enjoying being together, even if the firework show was only 5 minutes long! All that to say, we had a great day with family...and a great evening with my sister. What a very blessed family we are!
